Pricing

Where I can, I much prefer to work on a flat fee rather than a time-billing basis. That is, you and I will work together to figure out which finite tasks need to be done, and I will quote you a flat fee for those tasks. Flat fee pricing works to your advantage because I base my flat fee pricing on a discounted hourly rate, taking into account how long I think the task will take to complete. Depending on the size of the task, I usually also add in a few hours for free. Most importantly, barring unforeseen circumstances, you know upfront how much you are going to spend on legal fees for a particular matter.

In the event that flat fee pricing is not appropriate for your situation, my current hourly rate is $195.

To give you an idea of how much certain services cost, here is a sample list of flat fee tasks and their associated prices:

Business

Registered Agent: $100 per year. Every corporate entity (i.e., limited liability company, corporation, etc.) must have a registered agent to receive service of process. Included with this service is the preparation of the business' annual report to be filed with the state.

Limited liability company operating agreement: $750, typically. A LLC should have an operating agreement, which is a document that governs how profits and losses are divvied up, what happens when a member dies, and who makes decisions for the company, among other things. For very complex operating agreements, the price can increase, so let's discuss the needs of your business.

Real Estate

Warranty, bargain and sale, or quitclaim deed: $75. A deed is a document that transfers real property from one person to another.

Bill of Sale: $75. A bill of sale transfers personal property, much as a deed transfers real property, and often does so in connection with a real property transfer.

Planned community document package, including declarations, articles of incorporation for the homeowners association, bylaws, and custom sales contracts: $2500 - $5000. This is a wide range because the needs of each project are different and there is a wide variation in what different developers need. However, this price range is intended give you a basic idea of the costs involved.
